What is sublimation printing?
Sublimation is the process where a solid material transforms into gaseous
material without going through the liquid phase. Sublimation printing
process therefore means:
A photo, design or text is printed onto transfer paper with specially
developed ink, then affixed to the object to be printed. The ink vaporizes
due to a combination of pressure and heat and is absorbed by the print
media. Here the ink molecules combine with the surface molecules of the
coating of the printable item. The design becomes permanent when the object
cools.
With t-shirts, for example, there is no sticky film like you find with the
iron-on decals.
